What technology would you be better off without, why?

In our world full of technology, I think we have too much. When I was little, we didn’t have a computer and when computers came out and my parents got one, it was theirs. If we needed to look up information or do a report for school, we went to the library. If you did not know what a word meant, you used the dictionary. You wanted to take a picture, you used your actual camera. Go on vacation, write a postcard. There were no cell phones.

Games…. Of course we had a Nintendo and Atari. But we had what is called our “imagination “. We went outside to play, rode our bikes. Were told to come home before dark. Now a days, kids are so zoned into the tv , cell phones, Xbox or Play station.

By nature, when the seasons change and it gets cold out, we automatically go to our thermostat & turn the heat on. Personally, in our house we go to the fireplace and use that until it’s too cold out. Then the heat goes on. The fireplace warms our house for two days before we have to light it again. With what they have now as “smart devices”.

Now don’t get me wrong, I live off my laptop, I’m learning digital designing, We have a tv in almost every room, my kids have cell phones & video games. I know my way around technology. But now, in our modern world, there’s too much.

I remember a couple years ago I was talking to my niece and she had no clue what a pay phone was. My youngest daughter didn’t know what the index’s were at the library where you had to get the card out of the drawer and look for your book. She seriously thought I was going nuts! She laughed at me. I go in the library now and you go to the computer.

To sum things up, there is not one piece of technology in specific that I could do without. We have too much all together.
