Busted Canvas

Busted canvas is a art technique where the canvas appears to be torn and opened revealing a picture or another design underneath. It’s a fun technique that I’ve seen reels of tons of times however, this is my first one.

For my first busted canvas project I wanted it to be unique. Not like the others I keep seeing. You see a lot of people making them look farmhouse style, scenery, cows, Christmas, etc. you get the jist. This project cost in total: $6.00.

So I decided to give it a little POP of something. See for yourself in the video below and let me know what you think. (It’s less then 50 seconds long)

  1. That’s really cool! Is the background piece also a canvas?

    1. It is the back is one of those thin canvases , maybe 1/8-1/4” thick if that. The top canvas and back canvas are the same size. I got them at Dollar Tree, it’s 10x cheaper there. Then you put whatever design you want on that one. After you do whatever you want to design on the top thicker canvas, you cut it open, glue the flaps. Then glue the back and front together.
Thanks, I’m glad you like it! 😊
