Chia seeds are tiny black or white seeds that come from the Salvia hispanica plant, which is part of the mint family. They are versatile and you can use them in almost any recipe.
Some health benefits of chia seeds are:
- Helps improves blood sugar
- Loaded with antioxidants
- Helps aid in weight loss
- Can help lower your risk of heart disease
- Helps lower blood pressure
- Improves cholesterol
Chia seeds are high in fiber, omega – 3βs, proteins and minerals.
Today we are making Chia seed pudding. It can be the perfect healthy snack or eaten for dessert.

Supplies needed:
* Measuring cups
* 1 1/2 cups of milk – I used almond milk
* 1/3 cup chia seeds
* Teaspoon or so of vanilla extract
* 1-2 Tablespoons of maple syrup
* Container with lid
* Spoon to stir with
Step 1:
Pour 1/3 cup of chia seeds into your container.

Step 2:
Next add 1 1/2 cups of milk

Step 3:
Now you can add as little or as much of vanilla extract and maple syrup as you want.
Step 4:
Stir

Once your done stirring, place the lid on the container and keep in fridge overnight. If you want it sooner , I read you can leave it in the fridge for 3-6 hours and it will be done. If itβs still not thick enough after the allotted time, stir and put back in the fridge for longer.

In the morning, the chia pudding will be thick. Literally, pudding consistency.

You can eat it as is or add granola to it, you could also add in banana or other fruit toppings.
Enjoy!!
Till next time,
~ Mel
