Work Smart

A Easy Little Home Decor Project

The Dollar store is one of my favorite go to places! You can find so much there and for so little money.

Today I’m sharing a fun little project with you guys. The longest part was waiting for the paint to dry.

Supplies needed:

* “Wall Creations” Removable Wall Decal (peel & stick)

* Unfinished square wooden box (open on one side)

* Paint – color of choice to match the wall decal

* Unfinished wooden words

* Paint brush

* Tray for paint

* Ruler

* Pencil

* Mat or newspaper to protect surface

* Any type of decorations to put on. Flowers, wood decals, resin pieces, gems, etc.

Step 1:

Start by measuring the front of the box onto the decal. With the pencil mark a line around the box on to the back side of the decal.

The back side is the open side.

Then cut out the square (or whatever shape your wood piece is), set it aside.

Step 2:

Place the wood box on your mat/newspaper and paint it with choice of color. I painted the whole thing just to get it over with.

Let dry.

Step 3:

Now you can take your cut out decal and put it on the box. After that you can decorate it. For mine, I hot glued resin around the border of the outside on 3 sides. Then added a branch and a bird on the front.

I painted the wooden word I chose, when it was dry I glued it down on the front.

That’s it. Now you have a new piece to decorate your home with.
