It’s funny how we get stuck sometimes, isn’t it? We walk through a door, thinking it’s where we’re supposed to be, and even when we start to realize it’s not right, we stay. We stay because it feels easier than turning back. We stay because we’ve already put in the time, energy, and emotions. We tell ourselves it’ll get better, that maybe we just need to adjust, maybe this room will start to feel like home if we give it more time. But deep down, we know. We know when we’re not in the right place.

No one likes to admit when they’re wrong. Admitting that we walked through the wrong door we feel like a failure. To me, it’s worse to spend years of your lives trying to convince ourselves that we belong somewhere else when we don’t. It takes courage to say “this isn’t right for me” and walk away. We need to let go of the fear of what others may think.

There’s no shame in turning around and finding another path. It is one of the bravest things we can do — to leave behind the comfort of a familiar room/place and venture out into the unknown, trusting that the right door is out there, waiting for us to walk through it.

Maybe, it’s better to admit we took the wrong turn than to spend a lifetime wondering why we feel stuck. Because in the end, we deserve to live in a room that feels like it was made just for us. And that itself, is worth searching for.
