When people get older their skin gets thinner. Our skin will have a reduced capacity to repair itself and in turn, it will be deduced by a lack of collagen, flexibility, an overall weaker skin that causes bruising easily. the littlest bump or scratch on the arm can cause bruising that looks worse than it really is.
The other day I saw a rather large bruise with a tiny cut on my Mother in law ‘s arm. Apparently her little dog scratched her. It was unintentional as he likes to try to get her attention, he’ll paw at you.

So of course I had to do a little research. I came across an article someone wrote on how to help get rid of the bruising on your skin. It showed pictures of an elderly ladies arm all bruised up before and pretty clear skin on her same arm after. Do it got me there. I like articles that people write where they show proof it worked!
I’m going to share with you guys today, a way to help with bruising. It really was simple and easy to make.
Supplies needed:
* Little Container with lid
* Fractionated Coconut oil 20 drops
The following essential oils –
Frankincense 20 drops
Lavender 20 drops
Cypress (optional) 20 drops
In the past I have used regular coconut oil and just melt it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Or leave it sit out overnight.
When my mother in law put this together, neither one of us had “Cypress” essential oil. It still worked on the bruise without it. I’m sure you may have a slightly better result if you add it in.
Step 1:
In your container, mix about 20 drops of coconut oil. Then you will want about the same for the essential oils. In no particular order put 20 drops of each essential oil in the container. Frankincense, lavender, cypress. Mix together.
Apply on the bruise 1-2 times per day for 1-2 weeks.
I believe it took about a week for my Mother in law to see some results.
This is the after picture a week later

The cut is a little better and the bruise is almost gone.
You can find the fractionated coconut oil almost anywhere. I’ve gotten mine at the dollar store and Walmart.
Frankincense – has anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Helps reduce pain, helps tone the skin and help fight skin disorders like eczema and acne.
Lavender- reduces inflammation and helps wounds heal. Helps with acne, and improves wrinkles as well.
Cypress – Has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties and is also an astringent.
- DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ANY OF THESE INGREDIENTS.
