Did you know that black mold in your home can contribute to various health problems? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it can cause a stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing, burning eyes, and even skin rash.
However, thanks to the antifungal properties of tea tree oil, you can get rid of mold quite easily.
Tea tree oil, which comes from the Australian native plant Melaleuca alternifolia, is known for its therapeutic benefits.
This natural fungicide is an excellent substitute for other hazardous chemicals used to clean your home. Additionally, itβs pretty effective and convenient to use.
Now a days you can find tea tree oil in a lot of household products, not just as an essential oil but also shampoos & conditioners, cleaners, lotions, body wash & others.
Today Iβm going to show you a quick, easy & effective way to help clean up mold.
Supplies needed:
Tea tree oil essential oil (you can buy at Walmart, target, amazon and also essential oil companies like young living)
Hydrogen peroxide
Water
Spray bottle. (Iβm using a 8oz)
Gloves
Paper towels
Cleaning brush
Step 1-
Fill your spray bottle about 3/4 full of water. Next add about 1/2 teaspoon at most of hydrogen peroxide. Then add 1-2 Tablespoons of Tea Tree oil. Place cap on the bottle and shake well.
Step 2-
Spray the tea tree mixture onto the mold and let it soak in for 2-3 minutes.
Step 3-
Start scrubbing with your brush or sponge. Spray more as needed onto the mold.
Another option is putting the tea tree mixture into a bowl instead of a spray bottle and dipping the brush or sponge in and applying it that way.
Thatβs it π.
