Out of Baking Powder?

Most of us have been in the position where we ran out of something and canโ€™t make what we wanted to. Such as baking powder . Numerous times for me!

Not only that, there are people who have food allergies and it also it much healthier to make things our own.

Iโ€™ve never realized how easy it is to make your own baking powder.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon of baking soda

2 teaspoons of cream of tartar

1 teaspoon of cornstarch (optional)

Mix the baking soda and cream of tartar together until thoroughly mixed. This makes 1 tablespoon of baking powder.

If you plan to make the baking powder in a larger increment & store it, then add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch.

The cornstarch will help absorb any moisture and let the baking powder last longer.

If you do not want to use the cornstarch, maybe thereโ€™s an allergy. You can substitute arrowroot instead of the cornstarch.

Good to know info-

Making your own baking powder is gluten free! Remember Not all brands are the same, look on the label for cornstarch, It will say made in a gluten free facility or produced in a gluten free facility. As well as GMO free.

When you make your own, there are no additives or preservatives

For myself, I can not have processed food. So making ingredients from scratch is better for me.
