Decluttering

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

Decluttering. Going through possessions to get rid of them. Or You can Decluttering your life from mental stress.

I started the new year with both. Got rid of toxic friends in my life. Someone that is a very selfish person, they don’t care about your own life, and if you talk about what’s going on in your world they don’t care. They don’t listen. A compulsive lier as well. So they are gone.

I put the rule of thumb out there in my house for the new year- if you haven’t touched it in 2 years, get rid of it. So I’ve been doing exactly that. I’m all for saving things that mean something to you or having that favorite sweater or holding onto those pair of jeans you want to fit in. Even saving things to up-cycle. But when you have things laying around that haven’t been touched since we moved, 2-3 years ago. It makes you wonder why you still have it. If I have duplicates of something I see if someone else wants it. Like yesterday I was going through my stain glass supplies. I have two 1.5lb tubs of kiln wash. I’ll give one to my mom. The stuffs not cheap and one tub alone can last me years.

The bottom of the list are my kids old board games and legos. They are old enough now that some of the games are for younger kids. Time for those games to go.

Decluttering your life is never easy, whether it’s mentally Decluttering or physical items. Kudos to those who have everything in order.

    1. Thanks, it reminded me of my closet. I tend to keep one too many tops cause I want to wear it one day or I want to back into it. Lol

    1. When you work with glass in a kiln to fuse the glass, you use ceramic molds. To prevent the glass from sticking to the mold you put a coating on the kiln wash on it first.

  3. I have such a hard time getting rid of things for “sentimental” reasons! Periodically I go through my basement and bring items to goodwill but it’s still hard.

    1. I’m the same way. I’ve finally decided to get rid of things but only Jeep the things that have history to them, ran in the family.
