To be or not to be…

How have your political views changed over time?

I really do not like discussing politics. It’s a good way to start an argument, every time.

I’ll keep this prompt short and to the point. I don’t think I need to get into detail on what politics are.

I used to be a democrat when I was young. I grew up, had kids, have a home. Now I’m a republican. Sometimes our views tend to change once your into the adult world.

  1. You’re right not to start a debate about politics. I know In USA you have Democrats and Republicans. Years ago they were the same party?!? I always thought too a Republic is anti-monarchy! It’s confusing enough to get your head round working out who stands for what nowadays. People scoffed at Trump being president and if you were pro or not, it was to me a man that loves his country and wanted change. Every country in the world has a form of government and the British government are the biggest set of criminals going.

    1. I’m not sure about the same party part. Maybe before my time. All forms of government U.S or by you is confusing. People here get very very nasty if you are against whomever they voted for.
      Now people scoff at Biden.

      1. It was Jefferson era. Regardless they’re the two about now. The same here, if you say you vote this party and someone votes the other, it’s met with telling each other that they know nothing and so on. I don’t bother voting anymore. It’ll not make any difference to me as working class who is in charge.

    2. Years ago, the ideals of the two parties were opposite of what they are today. So basically they just swapped.

  2. I dot like or trust none of it. I wish they abolish politics or I like to call it POLI Tricks. I feel strongly against a system that is like watching tv wrestling and both sides are no different than two lawyers in a court case and a judge. nothing different. in all honesty id give up my citizenship than ever vote period. you are cool people. I just don’t get down with that travesty called politics at all.

  3. Politics suck. From local through to national. Opponents are so determined to ruin each other that I can’t understand why someone would want to run.

  4. Another thing that has always baffled me too is how two parties, who apparently have your best interests at heart and they have plans to better the country for you, are so so so far apart from each other. Never any crossover in regards to policies or similarities with the proposals to improve infrastructure et al. Two groups with allegedly the same goal, have completely different opinions on how to get there

    1. Look beyond the two main contenders. Minority voices do challenge assumptions in both Houses. A cast vote is never a wasted vote.

  5. While I may not trust either side completely, I firmly believe that as Americans, our unity is crucial. We’re all on the same team! Let’s not allow the government’s attempts to divide us to succeed. Together, we’re stronger!

Discussing about politics mostly when it’s comes from being an opposition is the easiest way to great enemity among friends!
