Back in time

Share what you know about the year you were born.

The year 1980, Ronald Reagan as president, the Iraq war , John Lennon was assassinated. Bob Marley passed away in May of 1980

The 80’s was the decade of big hair & neon clothes . Turtlenecks, shoulder pads and corset belts were in style.

With roller skating to some 80’s tunes such as celebration by Kool & the Gang; Another one bites the dust by Queen and you shook me all night by AC/DC.

Some of many movies that came out such as Airplane, the Return of the King, The Elephant Man.

Inventions in 1980-

The Rubiks Cube – invented in 1974 but gave its world appearance in 1980

Post it notes.

CD’s appeared in stores

MTV came out in August of 1980

PAC Man came out. Originally called Puck man.

Arcade Game Battle zone

The Apple 3 computer came out

Cars that came out in 1989-

Yugo

Ram pickup

Nissan Leopard

Lincoln Towncar

Holden Rodeo

Honda Quint

Ford Thunderbird 8th Gen.

The Fiat Panda

Audi Coupe

It’s amazing when you look back at what was invented back then vs now, how much of a difference things have changed or upgraded since then.

  1. Michael Jackson was the Jump back in the day. 40 years ago and Thriller was everything. Pac Man, Rubkix Cube, Arcades, roller skating, sci fi movies, still love. ET. video tapes, 3D movies and I would wear glasses end side. good horror movies, tv shows, dramas, sports, fashion, Music, a lot to digest. it was the Last Era of the Larger than Life Music Artist, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, George Michael, Janet Jackson and then Hip Hop took off. Big time Movies, and everything was Big from the Hair to the Presentation. what a time to be around. this new thing called Microsoft, a Phone Extension and caller ID and a Machine Answering Phone. three way

      2. Back then? As a kid all sorts of things. From games to music. We were outside a lot. What I enjoyed most was Atari or Nintendo. Cartoons. We loved roller skating or bike riding, fishing.
1980 was kind of a boring year for things invented or happening. Unless your into govt. & politics or cars. That’s a different story.
