Favorite Recipe

What’s your favorite recipe?

That’s a tough one. I have a few. Depending on what meal it is or desert. My favorite dinner recipe my family likes is my Crockpot Lasagna recipe.

Then there’s Peanut Bitter Rice Krispie Treats. It’s my grandma’s recipe but I added peanut butter. My grandma always used to make the best Rice Krispie Treats. She always said she used extra butter. That was why they tasted so good. But no matter how much butter I use, I can’t get mine to taste the same. My family’s never had hers, so they can’t tell me if they taste the same. One day I just had a taste for peanut butter ones, so I changed the recipe a bit. Everyone seems to like them.

  1. That crockpot lasagna sounds good. Never even thought of that! Also, I love desert, I’ll take one of those Peanut Butter Rice Krispies… 😂

    1. When I make the lasagna in the crockpot it has a whole different taste vs when it’s made in the other. It’s weird but I want to say it’s a healthier taste…. I make mine with ground Italian sausage. Try it.

  5. Last month I went to a friends potluck. There were so many deserts to choose from, but I gravitated to the rice krispy treats! It had been ages since I had one. Shamelessly, I ate three! Adding peanut butter sounds like a delicious twist!

  6. There could be reasons for the taste being diffrent, I know here there was a big swing to use oleo instead of real butter for a lot of recipes. If its the same there, that could be the reason. Ive also noticed that some oleos have a lot of water in them compared to oil which seems really odd to me. But the oleo also has “butter flavor” added which gives it the butter taste that isnt what real butter actually tastes like.

    1. I think it’s the butter. My grandma only grocery shopped at jewel . Plus she over did it on the butter, a lot. Lol

  8. My mother had recipes and seemed to never follow them, preferring to add a pinch here or a dollop there until it tasted right to her. The most substantial ingredient in all of them was love for those she served.
