Halloween Shelf Decor

Hi everyone! I am in the mood for fall decor. After looking on Pinterest, some people are already doing Halloween decor. So I figured, let’s go with it! I love decorating for the seasons & holidays.

I have some fun project wood from the dollar store I thought they’d be great for what I’m looking to do. I made these two. I thought I’d do something similar.

Supplies:

Wood blank that you want to paint

Paint colors of your choice ( I’m using orange & white)

Paint brushes

Tray for paint

Paper towels in case of mess

Halloween Decals – ( I printed mine out with my Cricut Explore. The dollar store & Michael’s has some for cheap).

If you need vinyl here are a couple links – My machine tends to not cut as nice if I use off brand vinyls.

Twine or anything else you’d like to add on.

Glue if needed

A finishing varnish. (For this project I am using Minwax)

Sandpaper or sanding block

You want to start by sanding your wood down. Make sure it’s smooth & no splinters sticking out. After that You can paint your pieces. I do not have orange paint. So I made some. For me, it’s easier to paint the Top, than bottom, then sides chasing drips as I go. Make sure you are allowing your pieces enough time to dry.

Once your pieces are dry you can add the decals. If you’d like to, you can sand your pieces a little bit to distress them before you put the decals/stickers on.

That’s it. I had fun making them. The hard part is waiting to put them out. I like decorating for Halloween, but not this early! lol Feel free to send me pictures of your finished projects. I like seeing what everyone does.
