A use for extra Chicken Wire

We have a ton of chicken wire fencing that we use to cage in the tomato’s every year. With a pile of little extra pieces. So I made a Candle holder.

Supplies:

  • Chicken wire- long enough to fit around a glass jar.
  • Jar of choice
  • Wire cutters
  • twine
  • Hot glue & hot glue gun
  • Pliers ( I am using a 2 in 1 pliers)

Step 1

After cutting the chicken wire to the size you need, you will take your pliers and any wire ends poking out from what will be the top & bottom, you want to bend in and twist with the existing wire.

Step 2

Once you completed step one, you will tightly wrap the chicken wire around your jar. To connect the ends together, with the pliers, you will wrap the open ends on one side with the open end on the connecting side. Making sure nothing is sticking out to poke anyone’s fingers.

Step 3

Now after your hot glue gun is warmed up, you will wrap the twine around the rim of the jar using hot glue to tac on as you go to hold it in place. I wrapped mine around the rim about 4x before I cut it. It makes a nice little farmhouse type decoration.

As always, please feel free to email me pictures of your finished work. I love to see what everyone does!
