DIY Fabric Softener

For a family of 5, you can imagine how much of laundry detergent we go through.  We have a energy efficient washer so that does help a little. But we are always looking for a way to save money, especially now a days. Things are not cheap.  We spend approximately, $9.00 on Fabric softener a  little less than 1 month.

For a bottle of vinegar it’s $3.00 and Suave Conditioner it is $1.00.   I will also mention 3 of us in this house have sensitive skin.  We are saving a little money.  Our homemade fabric softener doesn’t have the added chemicals in it either.  So that’s a win!

Supplies needed:

2 cups of water

1 cup of distilled vinegar

A little more than ½ cup of conditioner

Paper towels (in case of spill)

Spoon or something to stir

Optional supplies:

Essential oils (optional)

Labels & penhttps://amzn.to/3CTpFU3

In your jar, put 2 cups of water, than 1 cup of vinegar. Mix.  Then add your conditioner.  I planned on adding essential oils melon scented but after I added the conditioner it smelled like Downey.  So you can add in a few drops of essential oils at this point or skip it.  Stir well.

I put a label on my jar and marked it as fabric softener.   That’s it!  Stay tuned next week for a DIY on Laundry Scent booster!
