I’m starting this week off simple. A super easy and inexpensive project. The longest time was the drying time.
I love candles and different candle holders. I have them all over our home. So today I thought I’d share a simple , inexpensive and pretty candle holder.

Supplies needed:
*small pedestal (Dollar Tree -they have black & white ones)
*lid from a old candle (I used a lid off a candle from Walmart or Bath & Body Works candle lids are the perfect size too)
*paint to match the pedestal
*glue
*Mod Podge or another varnish like Kamar varnish by Krylon. (Kamar is $7.28 on Amazon)
*placemat or something to cover your surface like newspaper
*paint brush
*Vinegar & paper towels
Step 1:
Start by washing the lid with soap and water. After that wipe it down with vinegar. The vinegar helps the paint stay on the metal lid without the paint crackling or peeling off.
If you would like to use a primer first you can.
Step 2:
Once dry, you will paint the lid. Once one side is dry, paint the other side. I did two coats of black paint

Step 3:
Now that the paint is dry you will want to put the varnish or Mod Podge on it.

Once that is dry (both sides), you will turn the lid upside down so what would be the top of the lid, is facing down.
Put glue around the edge of the top of the pedestal and in the center of it, like in the picture below.

Place the lid on top of that. Let Dry. I used cement glue from the dollar store it takes maybe 3-5 minutes to dry.

That’s it! All that’s left is to put your candle on it and enjoy!
Total cost of project : $1.25
Tips:
* Candles at Walmart that we buy cost approximately $5.00
*Mod Podge- depending on size & which one you get …. At Walmart $15.71 for 16oz.
Or
Mod Podge at Amazon- same one $7.99
*candle pedestal- $1.25 at Dollar Tree
