Cultural

What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?

I’m a mixture of nationalities , one being Czechoslovakian. I love their food such as,

Goulash or just a basic meat & potato’s dish. The best desert ever, Kolache!

Their known for their traditional Czech Folk Art. Ceramics & pottery. They have beautiful Crystal/glass. They incorporate a lot of color & design into their Arts & crafts. I’ve always had a thing for history type pieces, maybe it’s the Czech in me. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

    1. No , I’d like to learn it. Found a old book that’s written in Czech. It’s neat.

      1. I’d definitely recommend you give it a go. I enjoy learning Spanish and Portuguese. I got some text books from Amazon for next to nothing. They are for youngsters (4-6 and 7-9 etc) but you have to start somewhere. I aimed to learn one new word a day. It’s a great escape too πŸ—£πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ώ

      2. Thanks. I’m only hesitant on learning it cause I don’t know anyone who speaks it, anyone alive anyway. But it may relieve some anxiety

      3. Have a look if there’s any restaurants or even communities in your area. Sometimes we don’t know if we aren’t looking for them. It’s just for me a great source of accomplishment when I go to Portugal and I can have a conversation.

      8. Yeah it is but as a word of warning I wouldn’t use it for learning. It doesn’t translate in context and at times it’s gobbledygook. But it’s handy for pronunciation of words. You can type in the word and press the icon, <))) (something like that) and it’ll say that word so helpful when you are unsure

      9. Yeah honestly I have never used google until recently. I use safari. But no…. I’d rather learn from a person or take a class.

      10. Yeah that’s the best way for sure but if you get stuck Google can be handy. See if you can find any Czech movies or series. I also watched a film I’d seen over and over and changed the audio to Portuguese or Spanish so I knew what was being said as seen it plenty and I was hearing it in different language. Just an idea that you can try if you want. YouTube also has some really good language learning stuff. I’ll check the one I use has a Czech collection of lessons and send the link if so
