My first apartment, I had my parents over on Christmas Eve for dinner. Out of all days it was on Christmas Eve that my oven decided to not work properly. It took 9 hours to cook a ham in the oven, it wasn’t a big ham either and it still wasn’t cooked right.

    My husband had decided to smoke a turkey. At this time, he was just starting to smoke meat. (Now he’s a pro). After 12 hours, and very hungry guests, we ordered pizza – it was 10:00 at night. The next day we threw the turkey in the oven.
