Tuesdays Prompt

What would you change about modern society?

Oh boy, there’s quite a bit. I’d change the financial situation this world is in. Things are outrageously expensive and people get paid crap. I’d change the price of groceries, some people can barely afford. Where I live it costs $400 in registration fee for one kid for school. That does not include the cost of school supplies or school clothes. Id find a way to change that. No wonder we all have money problems. I could keep going but it’s not going to help.

  1. That is so sad. Given that education is a fundamental human right, we need to find ways of making good education free.
In the UK, we need to find a way of returning the public schools – for aliens, private schools – such as Eton, Harrow, Loretta foundations, etc., to their founding purpose, which is educating the poor, not the rich.

  2. This really hits hard. Education, healthcare and shelter should be a birthright. There is no excuse for why we pay so drastically much just to provide our children with the education that they need in order to flourish in this difficult world. Without it, they would actually become a detriment to the society in need of remediation. However, this is the norm. In the US, at least, it is common to let students who cannot afford to keep up – fall through the cracks. This is insane. Why? Why allow a child to fall behind based on the notion that they have less paper than someone else? That is truly what it comes down to. In the US, this child has more green paper than the other child. The child with more green paper wins the education auction and takes home the knowledge accrued whilst the others wallow in failing grades and a lack of education and understanding. It is unreal. It is a human right to learn. Without learning, there would be no advancement. ❤ Love this post!
